Duties and responsibilities: They examine and diagnose bodily fluids like blood and urine. They also diagnose diseases in tissues and can also perform autopsies to determine the cause of death of someone. They also study the cause and the development of the disease that the patient has.

Education: A bachelor's degree and a medical degree are required. 4-5 years of training is also a requirement.They also need a 1 year residency or fellowship in forensic pathology.

Demand: grows 14% between 2014 and 2024

        

Reflection: In my opinion, I wouldn't pursue this career option. I am not interested in this career and I wouldn't feel comfortable performing autopsies on bodies. There are still other careers that I can learn about and see if those interest me.

Orthopedic Surgeon

Duties and responsibilities: Orthopedic surgeons treat patient's musculoskeletal systems.They care for patients who have problems with their bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Salary: %519,000

Education: To become an Orthopedic surgeon, you need to complete an undergraduate program and medical school for 4 years. A medical degree is also required. Training during medical school is also a requirement. After graduating, you also need to complete a 5 year residency program.

Demand: grows 13% from 2016 to 2026

     

Reflection: In  my opinion, i wouldn't pursue this career option. I would not because I'm not interested in this career or field. I am still looking for any other options.

Orthodontist

Duties and responsibilities: Orthodontist straighten teeth and fix bites. They also try to find the problem with the positioning of the teeth. They try to fix your teeth so you can have a better function.

Salary: $221,390

Education: An undergraduate degree or a doctoral degree is required. 4 years of study at an accredited dental school is also required.

Demand: 18.3% growth from 2014 to 2024

               

Reflection: In my opinion, I wouldn't pursue this career option, I wouldn't because I am not interested in anything that has to do with our teeth. This job isn't bad but I would like to explore more options available.

Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: They perform surgery or a procedure on hard and soft tissues to cure diseases, injuries, or defects.

Salary: $252,910

Education: You have to complete a 4 year hospital based surgery program. A dental surgery degree is also required. You also need to take an exam so you can become certified.

Demand: 18% job growth from 2014-2024

      

Reflection: In my opinion, I would probably not choose this career option. I would not because I don't want to do surgery on people. I am not comfortable with doing that and seeing all of the blood. 

Optometry Technician

Duties and responsibilities: They conduct diagnostic tests, record and measure vision, they test the eye function, prepare the examination rooms and make appointments.

Salary: $22,260 per year

Education: To become one, you need at least a High School diploma. You also need to complete a training program and at least get an associates degree.

Demand: 23% growth from 2014 to 2024

                     


Reflection: In my opinion, I would pursue this career option. I wouldn't because I am not interested in a career that is specifically only for the eyes. I want to be dedicated to something else besides the eyes.

Optometrist

Duties and responsibilities: They perform vision tests and analyze the results. They also diagnose any eye problems and prescribe visuals aids.

Salary: $103,900 USD

Education: a doctoral or professional degree is required to be a Optometrist. You also need to complete a 4 year program in Biology, Chemistry, or Physiology.

Demand: grows 17 percent 2016 to 2026

     

Reflection: In my opinion, I wouldn't like to be an Optometrist. I wouldn't because I don't have an interest in this career.
